About The Artist

Hi, I’m Louise.
The artist behind Burton Tattoo Studio on Fore Street in Brixham.
I came to tattooing after a big turning point in my life. When my mum passed away, it really put everything into perspective — life felt far too short to stay in a job I didn’t love. I’d always wanted to pursue a career in art, and that moment gave me the push to fully commit to doing something creative and meaningful every day.
I’ve now got four years of full-time experience as a tattoo artist, and opening my own shop has been a huge milestone for me — something I’m genuinely proud of.
A calm, private studio — with a relaxed, fun vibe.
My studio is set up so I work with one client at a time. That means you get maximum privacy, a calm space, and full 1–1 attention throughout your appointment. The atmosphere is modern, relaxed, and fun — the goal is for you to feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
One of the things I love most about tattooing is the connection with my clients. I’m really grateful for the supportive community around the studio, and it’s honestly amazing how many clients come back and, over time, become friends.
Private group bookings
I also offer private group bookings for small groups (up to 5 people). Friends or partners are welcome to come along and sit in for support — it can make the whole experience feel much more relaxed, especially if someone’s a bit nervous.
Group bookings aren’t a “takeover day” as standard, because each tattoo (and the time/cost involved) can vary a lot — so it’s something we’ll discuss based on what each person wants.
If you’re nervous, you’re in the right place
If you’re anxious about getting tattooed, I’ll always meet you where you’re at.
You’re welcome to come and meet me before your appointment if that helps.
You can bring a friend or partner, or anything that comforts you.
When you arrive, we’ll have a welcoming chat and I’ll talk you through exactly how the session will go.
You can have pauses and breaks at any time — just tell me when you need one.
Feel free to bring headphones and listen to your own music.
There’s also a TV with streaming services, so you can relax with a series or film during your session.
Clients have sometimes told me the appointment has felt a bit like a “therapy session” because I’m a good listener — and while tattooing isn’t therapy, I take pride in creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and unjudged.
My art background and influences
I studied Art & Design for two years at Exeter College, focusing on fine art, graphic art, and painting — and that foundation still shapes how I think about creativity and design.
Outside the studio, I’m a huge music lover (especially indie, punk, and rock) and I’m always at gigs and festivals. I’m also a proud cat person — I’ve got three cats at home — and I’ve lived in Torbay all my life.
When I’m not tattooing, you’ll usually find me spending quality (and often very fun!) time with my family — my partner, the kids, and our wider extended family. Whether it’s days out, weekends together, or just being at home with everyone, that time means a lot to me.
I’m inspired by world art and culture — from Japanese influences like cherry blossom to Mexican Day of the Dead — and I also love painting in my spare time (including painting on things like musical instruments and skateboard decks).
